HOTSPOT: The Cobbler (Gent)

August 15 marked the day on which the doors of The Cobbler, located at the Graslei, opened for the first time. The cocktailbar can be found within the former Hôtel des Postes et des Télégraphs, which is now known as Hotel 1898 The Post. Via a charming little garden outside of the hotel, you're being led to a tower in which you'll find the staircase that brings you to The Cobbler. The ambiance of the tower itself will give you a taste of what's to come and once you've entered the cocktail bar you'll be sucked into the luxurious but romantic ambiance of The Cobbler. Wooden tables, grey and taupe seats, wooden floor ... Every detail is spot on.

Op 15 augustus openden de deuren van The Cobbler, gelegen aan de Graslei, zich voor het eerst. De cocktailbar vind je terug in het voormalige Hôtel des Postes et des Télégraphes, hetgeen nieuw leven werd ingeblazen en nu bekend staat als Hotel 1898 The Post. Via een charmant buitentuintje wordt je naar de toren geleid waar de stenen trap je tot aan The Cobbler brengt. De toren zelf brengt je al in de sfeer van wat komen zal en eens je de cocktailbar binnenstapt wordt je meteen meegenomen in de luxueuze, doch erg romantische sfeer van The Cobbler. Houten tafeltjes, grijze en taupe zetels, houten vloer ... Elk detail klopt.

Bartender Jurgen Nobels is ranked amongst the 10 best bartenders in the world. It won't be a surprise when I tell you that the cocktails here transcends those that you'll find anywhere else. With ingredients such as chocolate, honey wine, chili and even cilantro, he shakes the most delicious cocktails for you to enjoy. Besides cocktails, you can also enjoy the broad range of spirits, wines, teas ... for each his own! If you need to drive afterwards or you just don't drink any alcohol, then the alcohol free cocktails are something you should try!
